Ideally, we all want to live in a nation of laws. But we certainly hope the laws are rational, based on the premise of the public good, and enforced with common sense as guidance.
On a recent visit to Panama City Beach in Florida, an Alabama youth minister and his family were confronted by police for building a sand castle on the beach.
What seemed to be an innocent activity for the father and his 7-year old son turned into a confrontation that prompted the response of four police cruisers to the scene to deal with the “criminal” activity.
Learn how Bryant Rylee’s request for a simple explanation of the ordinance police cited turned into an event where he was punished for having innocent fun with his son. The story unfolds on the next page.
Don’t taze me bro!
Land of the fee home of the knave
How stupid!!!!
Get rid of Stupid, Ignorant Police…..start hiring High I.Q. police with some Common Sense !
Did they play the bad boys song?
Kinda think the issuing officer has a mental capacity that falls short of the demands of common sense. Maybe needs to find another job suitable for their needs, such as warehousing security where watching boxes to make sure they don’t break a nasty law. Sure her fellow officers are wondering wth….she called us for this?
You know, sounds like the officer explained that he should not make such a big hole and that metal implements were not to be used. The pastor should have set a better example for his children and just said “ok, I will fix it”. Instead, justf like a millennial he demanded to see the city ordnance regarding this law. Most officers in the nation do not ride around with a car full of regs and ordnances just stacked in the trunk. I think I would have called for cover and made a scene out of it as well.
rediculas law
Mistake was becoming contentious…especially being a youth minister. Next time, just do as instructed.
Just want to fine people to fill the coffers.
