In Ohio you can be arrested for having a compartment in your vehicle that police think might be able to contain drugs, even if it has nothing to do with drugs. This is not just one of those stupid laws on the books that nobody pays attention to. Instead, this is a law passed in 2012 that was enforced for the first time with an arrest in late November 2013.
Several states have passed ‘secret compartment’ laws that state you can be arrested simply for having a compartment in your car – even if there is nothing in it.

It’s not Obama, it’s not a partisan thing either. It’s the men behind the curtain that are the real problem.

Ridiculous! What is wrong with these legislators?
Ignorance prevails!
ALL vehicles have “secret” compartments. NEVER agree to a search.
Welcome to the socialist police state
Ok, just saying here but, don’t police auction off cars every month that were sized from drug dealers that May or may not have “secret compartments” that they used to conceal weapons or drugs before you bought the car?
I am on controlled med’s 4 my pain, and i know that to have it in my car with me i must have a current bottle with me , i wonder when that will get me in trouble?
I lived in Ohio for 2 years, 1968-1970. They have THE stupidist traffic laws and I could hardly wait to get out of there…kept telling the police I was leaving and the day I did, I even asked them to pass the word I was leaving with my husband and children [they were always nit picking because I drove an older car]. I have no plans to ever step foot in Ohio ever again. I lived in Ashtabula and found the people who were clerks in the store to be as cold as Lake Erie is in the winter months.
If your on those kinda “codeine based” meds you shouldn’t be driving anyway, pretty sure it say that right on the bottle.
