The Dutch woman’s name has never been published, but I’ll call her Janna Hinde (Dutch for Jane Doe). Janna was a 74-year-old woman who had a form of dementia that was not always present in severe waves. She had bouts with the disease where she could be under duress and not very cogent, when at other times, Janna was absolutely normal.
When Janna made out her original Last Will and Testament, she explained on the legal document that she wished to be euthanized when she “felt that it was time.” At a routine visit to her doctor, also unnamed in court documents, Janna was asked to identify herself in the mirror. According to the doctor’s testimony, Janna could not identify herself.
It was at this time that the doctor furtively made a cup of coffee for the 74-year-old and gave her the cup. The coffee had been drugged and while Janna was sedated, he contacted her family, notifying them of the mirror incident. At that time, they all agreed that it was probably best if she was put to death.

[I]n the case of this specific Dutch woman with dementia, she never once gave an express request to be euthanized. In her will, which was renewed about a year before her death, the woman said she would like to be euthanized “whenever I think the time is right.” And when she was asked if she wanted to be euthanized, she reiterated multiple times that her suffering was not bad enough to where she wanted to be killed:
“The 74-year-old woman had renewed her living will about a year before she died, writing that she wanted to be euthanized ‘whenever I think the time is right.’ Later, the patient said several times in response to being asked if she wanted to die: ‘But not just now, it’s not so bad yet!’ according to a report from the Dutch regional euthanasia review committee.”
When Janna was able to view her family around her, it was seeing them as they were restraining her while the devious-minded doctor readied the lethal injection, before finally administering it and killing her!
While it’s not very clear about who actually initiated the accusations against the doctor (the family members, after all, were accessories to the crime) it appears that an ethics panel investigation was launched and possibly conservative prosecutors opted to lodge a charge of murder against the doctor.
In the end, however, Janna did not get justice. This past Wednesday, the doctor was exonerated in Holland, acquitted of all charges of wrongdoing. Amazingly, the euthanasia charter adopted by the country states very clearly that patients with “severe cases of dementia” are unable to “change their minds” at the last minute!
Patients with dementia can now be killed by their doctors even if they strongly object to euthanasia at the time, so long as they have previously given consent for the fatal procedure. In other words, if a patient were to change their mind about the assisted suicide, a doctor could still legally kill them against their will. “The court ruled that in rare cases of euthanasia that were being performed on patients with severe dementia — and who had earlier made a written request for euthanasia — the doctor ‘did not have to verify the current desire to die,'” MedicalXPress reported.
This miscarriage of justice is just a taste of what is coming from the Progressive Left. The style of Socialism practiced in Europe is widespread across that continent and infects every square kilometer.
