Recently-converted Muslim Aisha Ibrahim Ismail was merely trying to advance the cause, the struggle, of Islam when she carried a can of lighter fluid beneath her clothing into her place of prayer and waited for everyone to be out of the mosque before dousing the carpet in the fuel and setting it alight. What she hadn’t planned on was that a mosque staff would discover the fire and be able to extinguish it before the entire building could be consumed in the blaze.
Police in Iowa arrested a 22-year-old woman suspected of starting a small fire at an Iowa mosque Thursday morning.
Des Moines firefighters and police were called to the Islamic Center of Des Moines about 10 a.m. There had been a small fire on the carpet, according to a Des Moines police report.
The fire was extinguished by the mosque’s staff by the time firefighters arrived.
Security cameras in the mosque showed a woman, later identified as Aisha Ismail, pouring lighter fluid on the carpet and then starting the fire, said Des Moines police spokesman Sgt. Paul Parizek. Ismail was not on scene when police and firefighters arrived, according to the report.
Police arrested Ismail at a west Des Moines apartment that evening. She was booked into jail on a charge of first-degree arson.
There are no indications that this fire was a hate crime, Parizek said. Ismail attended the mosque, he said, adding that her motive for the fire was unclear.
“It doesn’t appear that she was trying to burn the place down,” Parizek said. “It seems like she was trying to make a statement.”
Damage from the fire was minimal, and no one was hurt, Parizek said.
Ismail’s jail bond was set at $25,000. She remained in custody Friday morning.
In multiple accounts about this arsonist, there is the continued drumbeat by the Leftist media that it was a) not a hate crime (duh!) and b) not known why she started the blaze. Fortunately, Truth and Action is here to tell you, not a guess or conjecture, but the PRECISE reason why she committed 1st Degree Arson.
Over the many decades where the media has grown fatigued of continually having to report that a Muslim “lone wolf” extremist, radical, choose your preferred press nom du jour, has bombed, stabbed, beheaded, shot or outright murdered many people in a cowardly Islamo-fascist terror attack, they were elated only a week ago when (finally!) a White European was involved in a terrorist attack in the London Bridge district of the United Kingdom (that’s England for all you Millennials) at a Finsbury mosque.
In that incident, a man who lived a full 150+ miles away from London, rented a van and drove it into a crowd gathered after midnight following evening services at the mosque. Initial reports were that the van’s driver, in retaliation for both the Manchester bombing and the subsequent London Bridge attacks, had driven around the city looking for Muslims to kill. As he was nearing the Finsbury suburb, he happened across a service letting out after midnight. As the crowd was departing the mosque, he spotted them and drove his van into the Muslim worshippers, killing one and injuring nine others.
Those initial reports, however, were disputed by some of the parishioners who claimed that, as they were departing the mosque, an elderly Muslim man collapsed and was having a heart attack. When several men came to his aid, a crowd had gathered nearby. The crowd was then struck by the van. It was later reported that the man who had initially collapsed had died, most likely as a result of his heart attack and not from being struck by the van. The nine injured Muslims were taken to the hospital and the man driving the van, who had been held down by the people present, was arrested. As far as I have been able to determine, no deaths occurred as a direct result of the attack and the injuries were not life-threatening.
With that in mind, remember that the media was hoping to be able to report that a White European supremacist had committed an act of terror and that there were many lives taken. Unfortunately for the Leftist agenda, this White European “supremacist” who was actually a “lone wolf” attacker was not very good at being an effective terrorist and managed to injure rather than kill.
With the focus initially being on an attack on Muslims (for a change) the media, in playing up the incident as possibly one that would lead to a string of attacks, inspired Aisha Ibrahim Ismail to commit another “attack” on her own mosque that, had it been successful (meaning the mosque had burned to the ground) would have sent the mainstream “fake news mill” into euphoric, orgasmic fits of journalistic pleasure. Imagine the Leftist news machine being able to cap off an attack on Muslims in London by a White European “supremacist” with the Islamophobic razing of a mosque right smack dab in the middle of the very racist United States of America!
This was nothing more than an attempt by Ms. Ismail to further the political agenda and the popular Progressive narrative that all White people are Islamophobic and wish nothing but harm on an innocent religious people. For the police spokesman, Sergeant Parizek to state that her reasons for starting the fire are unclear is absolutely disingenuous. It’s intellectually dishonest also to claim that she did not wish to “burn the place down.” Let’s not forget that this has not even been thoroughly investigated yet and the police department spokesman has already committed to the opinion that she didn’t mean to do anything more than set a carpet ablaze! There has not been enough time to come to that conclusion and, by the way, isn’t it a bit unusual and irresponsible for the law enforcement authority involved to make assertions before a court case has even been settled? When’s the last time anyone remembers somebody like George Zimmerman receiving that sort of benefit of the doubt in the media?
Needless to say, Des Moines is part of the venue of emerging large populations of Muslim convergence in the U.S. The Islamic Center that was the focus of this story is only one of seven mosques throughout the city. An article published in January of last year by the Des Moines Register goes to great lengths to mimic a Time or Life magazine writer in describing the everyday life of a devout Muslim in Iowa. With plenty of photos and simpering descriptions, they are very careful to include many references to Donald Trump and how he has been invited on more than one occasion to visit the subject mosque due specifically to his “inflammatory rhetoric.”
It’s a yellow building on 42nd Street, right behind a strip mall. There are no signs, symbols or statues.
Muslims who come to Masjid An-Noor for daily prayer here are open to visitors, but in the west-side Des Moines neighborhood it’s not as familiar a part of the landscape as Friedrichs Coffee next door.
It is one of seven mosques in Des Moines, also tucked away or largely unadorned, including a new one in the back of a Waukee commercial building that has a yoga studio and men’s salon.
Muslims are not hiding in fear after massacres in Paris and San Bernardino, California, whose attackers claimed links to the Islamic State (commonly known as ISIS) and ushered in a new round of what some call “Islamophobia.” They are not hiding in shame after those events ignited a new round of scrutiny of Muslims by some presidential candidates storming through Iowa in advance of the Feb. 1 Iowa caucuses.
The mosques’ simplicity is by design, as one adherent described: They need no images or decorations to pray.
But today, some Muslims in Iowa feel the need to be seen and heard. They welcome people to visit a mosque — even Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, who has called for barring Muslims from entering the United States.
“We are part of this society. Muslims need to step up more and engage in the political process.”
“We are part of this society,” said Almardi Abdalla, 39, of Des Moines, after prayer on New Year’s Day at Masjid An-Noor. “Muslims need to step up more and engage in the political process.
“We are open to anyone who wants to come here. We have nothing to hide. Donald Trump can come here anytime.”
A few days later, Imam Taha Tawil of the Mother Mosque of America in Cedar Rapids also urged Trump to visit.
Notice that the Republicans are “storming” through Iowa with denigrating and naïve notions of what Muslims are all about and that the faithful are not hiding after very horrible attacks on Americans in California (and Miami at the gay nightclub, which seems to have been forgotten by the reporter) and Paris, but neither are they condemning them, interestingly enough. Instead, what are they calling for? More engagement in the political process!
Amazingly, this type of quote-unquote journalism is why that profession is now one of the lowest rated professions by the American people…even lower than a very unfortunate Congress itself. That’s saying a lot.
Keep it up, Lefties. Perhaps it won’t take Donald Trump or his supporters to actually, once and for all, make you extinct. Perhaps all it will take is for you to fall willingly on your own pens.
