Bullies have existed since time immemorial, and they still exist everywhere, from the workplace to the community, and as always, in the schoolyard.
It would be nice if that unpleasant reality of interpersonal relations could be eliminated, but the question is how.
Bullies don’t usually respond to reason or cajoling, but they often do respond to brute force. Many of us remember being tested by the school bully, finally standing up to him and planting a solid punch right on his nose, and suddenly seeing the bully turn into a reasonable, even pleasant human being. This applies to raising kids in general, where the bully child constantly tests the parent and sometimes only responds to brute force rather than cajoling and pleading.
The problem is that liberals and lefty politicians have fallen for the whole “self esteem” movement, so kids are given way too much power and never experience a reprimand more forceful than a “time out.” And to make sure that is so, laws have been passed so that any discipline more forceful that “let’s reason together, Johnny,” or “please go to your quiet spot Susie” is seen as violent child abuse, to be punished by incarceration or having the children removed from the parents care. Now a new city ordinance in Shawano, Wisconsin puts parents in a double bind, and there is a good deal of confusion and disagreement about how fair the ordinance is.

I love this idea. Bullying as children establishes a pattern of behavior that if successful, will be carried on as an adult. These bullies become untrained at reasonable actions and respect, that most people have towards one another and which must be developed and instilled into our youth at a young age, if we are to expand our peaceful environment.
When an adult bullies another adult and uses force, either physical or intimidation; this bully can be arrested and sent to prison as we have laws to protect people from this kind of bullying.
This is a perfect and appropriate solution to childhood bullying. If a bully won’t stop, after being instructed that their actions are inappropriate, then placing a reasonable fine on the parents will certainly make them address the issue with their child.
This will force these children to re-evaluate their actions and attempt to find other ways to advance their goals.
Well maybe it will make some really bad parents start parenting.
Good luck with that one
this is just a taste of what’s to come.
set your eyes on martial law.confiscation of your guns is next.he’s going to be letting rapists and killers and child molesters get ready for it.
And this will be tossed on the first appeal.
North Korea sounds like a perfect place for you to move.
Brad – That makes no sense. I support an action by this local community, to fight the actions of children who bully other children and you suggest that I should go live under in the country of one of the biggest bully’s on the planet?
Can you make a statement with a little more intelligence about your position or even thoughts about this topic? Or, are you simply an antagonist who spews out insults without even understanding what you say?
Illuminatti – may I suggest that it wasn’t the bully’s that was the difference for you, and others who have been bullied. Although bullies may have been the catalyst for you; the real point of change was when you decided to stand up for yourself, to believe in the capability ad strength that we all have inside, that bullies attempt to steal from though’s that they bully.
Kid bullies grow up to be cops or politicians or even bosses who are small people with a little too much power. So when all grown up, you can’t legally put the boots to them even though they’re most deserving of it.
He’s an antagonist that has nothing to do with anything… it’s the LIBERAL MIND SET.. as he didn’t get his$#%&!@*lite up for being a holy terror… he’ll end up in a place that he will meet bubba soon if he don’t change his latitude…
