In a video that’s beyond unfathomable, New York filmmaker Ami Horowitz conducts an experiment to see how many of the students at the University of California, Berkeley would donate money to the Taliban. Horowitz tells students that the intention is for the Taliban to strike against American interests and the American people.
“We need to strike back. America’s destroying the world and we want to secure it for a strike against the American homeland.”
Filmmaker Ami Horowitz was shocked at how many students were willing to pledge money to help the terror organization.
Students caught on camera enthuse, “That sounds great!” and “Appreciate what you’re doing” while pledging anywhere from $5 to $50. One student even professed his sympathies for Horowitz’s mission, declaring, “I would work for you.”
“That was one of the most difficult moments for me,” Horowitz said, noting how willing the students — who spend up to $70,000 to attend the prestigious school — were to throw their money to terror. “This is probably one of the only times where if someone punched me in the face, I’d be happy,” he said, adding that that moment never came. “Not a single person told me to go to hell or go f – – k myself.”
In fact, he said that the videos aren’t cherry-picked, and genuinely reflect the attitudes of the people he meets.
“The majority of people who stopped and talked to me decided they’d give me money for this — to fund the Taliban and specific use of proceeds to kill Americans, and strike back at America, and fund a new 9/11 on the US homeland.”
The students’ overwhelming support even left the video’s crew bewildered. The cameraman, a left-of-center San Franciscan, stopped Horowitz after 30 minutes of shooting and took him aside: “Am I being punked right now? Are these actors?” he asked the filmmaker, unable to process what he was seeing, and saying, “I don’t understand what’s happening.”
The Northern California school, which is ranked 22nd on the US News compilation of national schools, has its own professors to blame for their self-hating impulses, said Horowitz.
“This is one of the best schools in the country. It’s complete and total brainwashing coming from the professors — they’re preaching the ills of America day in and day out.”
