Warren Triggered By Kid Rock Senate Bid, Shifts Into Money-Grubbing Mode

Her likely senate opponent next year will be software entrepreneur Shiva Ayyadurai, who claims to have invented email. Ayyadurai gained headlines by saying, “Only a real Indian can beat a fake Indian.”

He sent her a DNA test kit as a gag birthday gift in early July, playing off Warren’s often-challenged claim to be a descendant of Cherokee Indians.

In keeping with her feisty harridan personality, Warren wanted her audience to not take the Kid Rock political bid as a joke.

I know a lot of people are thinking: this is some sort of joke, right?” Warren wrote in an email blast with the subject line “Senator Kid Rock (R-MI).”

Well,” she said, “maybe this is all a joke — but we all thought Donald Trump was joking when he rode down the escalator at Trump Tower and announced his campaign, too.

Knowing some already dismiss the Rock announcement as a publicity stunt, Warren covered that base as well in her email.

And sure, maybe this is just a marketing gimmick for a new album or tour — but we all thought Donald Trump was just promoting his reality TV show, too,” she added.

Media seeking to find out how effective the fundraising appeal has been didn’t get a response from the Warren camp.

Those wondering how the funds will be used will see the email links to a fundraising page explaining the money will be split between Warren’s campaign and the re-election bid of Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow.

Launching his political website on Wednesday, Rock followed up with a fiery Facebook post on Thursday that savaged Stabenow and other politicians for their inattention to the real concerns of working people.

Born Robert James Ritchie, the 46-year old musician could be a serious contender, according to former Michigan GOP chairman Saul Anuzis.

He’s well-liked,” said Anuzis. “He’s a big proponent of Detroit and somebody who’s put his money where his mouth is investing back home.”

For that very reason, political pundits believe other Democrats might use the Rock candidacy as a way to cash in on the current headlines. University of Virginia political science professor Larry Sabato offered his take on the Warren email.

Political elites and activists who actually give money to campaigns keep up with all this stuff. Plus, the most effective direct mail is often tied to something that just happened — something that can be spun into a threat.”

Massachusetts state Representative Geoff Diehl, another would-be Republican opponent for Warren in 2018, believes the new email is aimed at boosting a Warren bid for the White House in 2020.

She uses any and every issue, whether it’s a celebrity Republican or it’s Hillary Clinton, to try to scare her support base into giving her more money so that she can reach that main goal I believe of running for president … not of focusing on the concerns of her constituents in Massachusetts.”

As an active and highly vocal critic of President Trump, Warren clearly loves the limelight and will latch on to any news she can to generate headlines, grub for money and keep herself positioned as the leader of The Resistance.

Democrats should be wary of letting another angry, condescending, hectoring older woman be the face of their party. Already crowding into that picture are Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters.

Unlike Kid Rock, Warren is no rock star.
