Walmart has been installing facial recognition cameras at eye level in the entrances of their new store fronts for some time now. These cameras not only have the ability to cross reference you with social media networks to put a name with the face, but utilzes software that has the ability to ascertain a great many things about the environment. How much exactly is unknown, but in the video on the next page you can see that it not only tracks faces, but can categorize objects and motion.

I feel kinda sorry for the poor SOB that has to watch the monitor all day. Spending eight hours a day staring at Wallyworld customers? No thanks.
Invasion of privacy? Hardly, how about recognizing thieves previously caught to alert Walmart Loss Prevention that a previously encountered thief is in the store. This is being used effectively by a multitude of stores
These could prove very useful in criminal cases. The rest of us have nothing to hide.
You people are forgetting about it could cut down on perverts comeing there and stalking women or kidnappers it could get a good look at them and identify them
Could be used for lots of good things too! Missing child recognized, for example. Live a good life. Treat others well. It’ll be ok as long as we keep our Constitution. I understand the what-if’s, but try to keep your glass half-full instead of half-empty.
Invastion of privacy, if I do not look happy according to your cameras, is Walmart going to pay for my groceries, I don’t think so, time to stop shopping at Walmart.
