Walmart has been installing facial recognition cameras at eye level in the entrances of their new store fronts for some time now. These cameras not only have the ability to cross reference you with social media networks to put a name with the face, but utilzes software that has the ability to ascertain a great many things about the environment. How much exactly is unknown, but in the video on the next page you can see that it not only tracks faces, but can categorize objects and motion.

Every time I go to the west Mifflin Wal-Mart I watch people stealing almost every time. I do amuse my self once in awhile start yelling shop lifter that person is shop lifting
Simple. Don’t shop there
Lol it’s amazing what people will believe. Facial recognition camera’s are used in government facilities/prisons to protect and keep secure places secure. Wal mart has not and is not implementing facial recognition software. Sure they have the capabilities but I can assure you they are not using it. I own a network company and install the voice/data and camera’s at wal marts nationwide. Also a wide variety of other companies including government facilities all over the country. And for the love of God..there are not tunnels leading from wal marts to wal marts. Lol dammit people quit believing the Facebook hype.
Either awesome troll or conspiracy theorist…
I’m just awesome Arthur hahahaha
Ok lets make this simple how many recognize there picture on their driver’s license passport work id school id the list goes on and on just think how many pictures of you are on Facebook the Internet. The key is to prepare for if ever there needs to be action .just like you would to a warning of a impending storm
It’s already on my long list of why I don’t go to Walmart. all they carry is cheap Chinese c**p anyways.
Its funny people say it isnt for facial recognition, then what is it for??
It’s a camera…it’s for viewing shoplifters/ catching footage of accidents. Facial recognition is software. The software is not being used
I think that guy has lost his marbles keep up the good work Walmart on protecting us
