Walmart is installing one of the most high-tech security camera systems on the market. Content-Based Imaging has been in use throughout our legal system and are normally placed in public areas, such as parks. In many cases, crimes are solved or diverted entirely based on their presence.
All of the cameras being installed at Walmart are strategically placed at eye-level, forcing its face-recognition technologies to take hold. Now that we’re all in databases all over the country, at any time, when the government wishes to find you, it simply switches on these special cameras and POOF! Wherever you are, big brother has the ability to monitor you. So does Walmart.
Content based imaging is used to detect a wide variety of objects, from people to vehicles to suspicious packages left behind. Once an object of interest is recognized, the camera has the ability to follow the objects movements, label actions on screen, as well as send alerts to authorities. The video on the next page shows you how it all works.
And the government will also use it for facial recognition (AKA big brother).
I knew there was a reason why I have been there maybe once in the last 5 years

Im glad their not looking for ugly..
Been in use for awhile. I walked right up to the cameras and clicked a few pics with my phone. Wanted them to know I was on to them. .
That bogus story was written by a very uninformed person. I’m an engineer in this industry and can tell you there is no such thing as a camera that gets its power over the Ether. Bosch cameras like all other manufacturers require power to operate (24vac low voltage, or IP, and some Bosch ptz cameras take 120vac direct). The photos in the video show a new camera mounted on a wall but not set up yet. Note the pink foam insert inside the dome covering the lens. The installer needs to remove that in order to aim and focus the lens. Also, the actual conduit for the wiring is either inside that exterior wall or surface mounted on the other side of the wall. IVA is Bosch’s analytic software to what many other manufacturers offer. Left behind object (aka object tracking), trip wire, and motion detection/tracking are very standard features. Does it do facial recognition like CSI Miami? Not a chance. I cant wait to show this article to my co-workers. They will get a good laugh. Sorry to disappoint but whoever wrote that article doesnt know what he is talking about..
We already knew this.
