A social media post about an armed soldier who was refused service at a Kentucky restaurant is going viral.
Billy Welch is an Army National Guard soldier. Welch says he always keeps his gun holstered to his side for safety reasons.
Welch says around 1:30 a.m. he stopped at the Waffle House in Nicholsville wearing his military uniform with his gun by his side.
After ordering his food, he said a waitress signaled for him to come over.
“I got up and I walked over to them, asked them how they were doing and stuff, and they said I’d have to take my firearm outside. I don’t feel comfortable taking my firearm away from me. I always keep it with me and they said, ‘it’s one of our policies.’”

Thank you!God bless all my haters!
Off base he may be a civilian, if he has a permit to carry, which he probably does, he has a right. Either way… It’s UN American. Bottom line, he’s in uniform and should be shown some respect, and lee-way. I was an mp in the army and carried my weapon on and off base. End of story.
Go to hell Waffle House
I want to know why this so called soldier was off post with a service weapon in public. This sounds like stolen valor to me
He can carry a concealed weapon, not open carry like a civilian LEO. That is a BIG no-no since they carry absolutely no power when off shift. MP have no arrest powers in the civilian world. Just because you did it, doesn’t mean it was legal.
I don’t see how it’s their right to refuse service over someone exercising their second amendment right but if they refused service to gays loved up to one another, all bigoted, racist hell…and a lawsuit would break out!
Most certainly is.
It is not..lol There have posts after post about this very issue. simple way to define it, did you have arrest authority off base?
you know who owens the property smart one ???
Well hell I like Waffle House…scratched off the list
