Tasered and pepper sprayed in his bedroom by Arizona police, Kyle Cardenas, a US Army combat veteran with the 82nd Airborne Division, who served two tours of duty in Iraq and was honorably discharged in 2006, suffers from “intense signs of PTSD”. He has filed a notice of claim against the Gilbert Police department for using excessive force.
The VA crisis hotline was called by Kyle’s family on his behalf, seeking a crisis team to come to their home. They specifically asked that the police not be called, unfortunately the VA ignored the request.
Police arrived at the house and Kyle tried to have his dog attack them, while also slamming the door in their face. The police told him that he was being detained.
Things went from bad to hell very quickly. View the video and the list of abuses that Kyle endured at the hands of the police on the next page.
For what, in his own be Room?, really
SHAMEFUL

Horrid. Police are suposed to healp people. He served his country so they have the freedom to beat him severely? What research is being done for PTSD? Medication, dietary ( not michelle obamas meals). These people need help, not police brutality. Would congress finally care enough to force the VA to help if we burn down that city like black welfare bums did in Ferguson and Baltimore?
The facts of the Police side of this story are grossly incomplete. Did he threaten / attack the officers ? We’re any of them injured ? We’re there any charges ? What was the exact nature of the call to the VA ( what were they told) and what did the VA tell the Police ?
The article seems to indicate that the meds at the hospital caused his heart to stop , not the actions by the Police.
Yes I am a retired officer AND I am an active duty veteran. This story is just way too lopsided on information and is very obviously stacked against the Police.
I am NOT for any kind of Police brutality but as an officer I had to use force. And I always pepper sprayed people in the face, that’s where it works the best. Please do proper journalistic justice and objectively post the entire story.
Those cops should not see tomorrow.
SO Wrong on ALL levels. am ashamed of the Gilbert PD.
As much anti-police rhetoric as is going around and they do stupid$#%&!@*like this–take their badge and send them home—
Whoa, this is way wrong. Hope that Vet gets a good lawyer and sues the hell out of everyone involved.
