On Dec. 31, 2014 Utah began the process to retake 31.2 million acres of its own land previously under the control of the federal government. Utah consists of 54.3 million acres, so Washington was controlling more than 65% the state.
The “Transfer of Public Lands Act”, signed by Utah Gov. Gary Herbert in 2012, is an unprecedented move that directly challenges the authority of the federal government.
Now, since the reclaim has taken place, Utah is gearing up to fight the feds.
MOVE ON TO PAGE 2:
using their logic, i’m going to reclaim a bank
Hasn’t happened yet.
No truth at all. Utah p$#%&!@*ed a law that said the feds had to give them the land. The feds used it for toilet paper.
Obviously not what the federal government is planning or they wouldn’t have made them “federally protected parks”. I agree with Kevin, they are in safer hands with the federal government than the state government who will give in to the almighty dollar and auction it off to the highest bidder. At least some states would do that, hopefully not Utah!
I would prefer private owners paying property taxes and providing opportunity for economic growth
Well, stupid is as stupid does..
How can the federal government ever take land from a state??? The concept is ridiculous and violates the cons$#%&!@*ution…

Other states had best learn a lesson from this and get off their dead rumps and do the same. There’s an underlying reason this administration wants our land and it isn’t to preserve it for future generations.
Ah, the f**e whining of the right wing.
