On Dec. 31, 2014 Utah began the process to retake 31.2 million acres of its own land previously under the control of the federal government. Utah consists of 54.3 million acres, so Washington was controlling more than 65% the state.
The “Transfer of Public Lands Act”, signed by Utah Gov. Gary Herbert in 2012, is an unprecedented move that directly challenges the authority of the federal government.
Now, since the reclaim has taken place, Utah is gearing up to fight the feds.
MOVE ON TO PAGE 2:
Why do the people believe the feds always have the best plan? I seem to remember parks being closed at gun point last year when the feds ran out of money.
I know right. Now the Christian Mormons want to do it. The government will bombard them into submission …or the Stone Age , whichever comes first….USA,USA!!
A traitor I would say.
I like federalism, but it’s true that Utah allows too much mining on public lands. Those mining companies have their own police forces and can keep citizens out.
Good. Now they can let the drillers and mining interests make their money because it is in republican hands. Just think of all the industry it can support! 🙁
Bravo!
You have proof to back that up?
Just their words. We’ll see what happens but you do understand their platform is to drill and exploit protected lands.
No Doak Harbison, the “Americans” won the Mexican War, and the federal government forked over tax dollars (from “Americans”) to fund it. Technically, the government owns nothing. We have to stop thinking like that. We’re a sovereign state and the land belongs to us, other than a fraction of legitimate government interests, like military installations.
Well, I’ll take my chances with Utah’s leadership over the corruptocrats and grifters I see coming out of Washington, D.C. What do they offer our state? Bird-killing windmills or more bird-killing solar farms for their big bundlers, all subsidized by the taxpayer. At least we can control what goes on in our own state.
