UK Diplomat: “I’ve Met the Person Who Leaked” the Emails That Crippled the Clinton Campaign

Mr. Trump has given every indication that he would prefer to have good relations with Russia as opposed to conflicts that could lead to nuclear war.  For this heinous act, officials in the formerly pro-peace Democratic party and their associates in the mainstream media have done everything but call Mr. Trump a traitor.  Perhaps that’s next.

The current manifestation of the left’s hatred of Mr. Trump has come in the form of CIA statements supporting the idea that Russia hacked internet sites in the US to release, via WikiLeaks, information that was damaging to Mrs. Clinton.

A secret CIA assessment found that Russian operatives covertly interfered in the election campaign in an attempt to ensure the Republican candidate’s victory, the Washington Post reported, citing officials briefed on the matter.

A separate report in the New York Times said intelligence officials had a “high confidence” that Russia was involved in hacking related to the election.

The Trump team didn’t waste time offering a stinging reply.

The claims immediately drew a stinging rebuke from the president-elect’s transition team, which said in a statement: “These are the same people that said Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.”

One interesting part of this is that the media has been mostly silent over whether the content of these releases are true of not.  The issue is just whether Russia intervened to produce information that favored Mr. Trump.  The fact that these leaks revealed a devastating level of corruption and criminality on the part of Hillary and her associates is treated as largely irrelevant.

Russia denies its involvement  as does Mr. Assange of WikiLeaks

The Kremlin has rejected the hacking accusations, while the WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has previously said the DNC leaks were not linked to Russia.

And guess what, even a “senior official” has backtracked a bit.

A second senior official cited by the Washington Post conceded that intelligence agencies did not have specific proof that the Kremlin was “directing” the hackers, who were said to be one step removed from the Russian government.

“Did not have specific proof,” this official said.  So the CIA’s musings are all just a “conspiracy theory” then, right?

He’s not the only one who has cast doubt on the theory that the Russians hacked sites to help Trump.  In fact, one close associate of Julian Assange claims to know who did leak the information, indicating that someone with access to Clinton and Democratic confidential information surreptitiously revealed the damaging information.

This would imply that there was no “hacking” at all by anyone, but rather a “leak” of the information by someone who had legitimate access to it.

Craig Murray, the former UK ambassador to Uzbekistan, who is a close associate of Assange, called the CIA claims “bullshit”, adding: “They are absolutely making it up.”

“I know who leaked them,” Murray said. “I’ve met the person who leaked them, and they are certainly not Russian and it’s an insider. It’s a leak, not a hack; the two are different things.

Murray continues, pointing out some inconvenient facts about US treatment of whistle-blowers whose revelations contradict the official government line.

“If what the CIA are saying is true, and the CIA’s statement refers to people who are known to be linked to the Russian state, they would have arrested someone if it was someone inside the United States.

“America has not been shy about arresting whistle-blowers and it’s not been shy about extraditing hackers. They plainly have no knowledge whatsoever.”

What we have here is the duplicitous Obama administration stirring up trouble for Trump.  Obama’s animosity directed toward Putin and Russia is well known, as Putin has been a thorn in Mr. Obama’s side, thwarting his plan to replace Assad of Syria.

This whole issue of alleged Russian hacking to support Trump is simply an effort by Obama to take a parting swipe at Putin which attempting to cast doubt over Trump’s victory.  In other words, pretty standard stuff for Obama.
