As a way of background, Imani is a gay, black Muslim activist who serves as executive director of Equality For HER, a non-profit media outlet for a range of feminist and radical ideas.
Imani has been employed in the past by Planned Parenthood and is a member of Black Lives Matter.
Decked out in the traditional hijab, Imani embraced the notion of a place where Muslims could gather and feel secure.
I’m talking about safe spaces being somewhere where you can be who you are without fear of being surveilled, having violence committed against you or being harassed. And I think it’s a good idea to have everywhere.”
Carlson quickly asked her why she thinks law enforcement agencies might have Muslims under surveillance. She acknowledged that counterterrorism efforts are the reason.
He then queried why there would be counterterrorism efforts against Muslims to begin with. Her reply proved a classic media-trained deflection.
There are acts of terror committed in the name of Allah,” Imani acknowledged, adding that she believes Muslims are nonetheless being religiously persecuted by governments.
At that point, Carlson interjected that other religious groups, such as the Amish and Hasidic Jews, aren’t subject to counterterrorism surveillance because they don’t engage in terrorist attacks.
Like the ICV in Australia, Imani kept up her claim that Muslims are being unfairly targeted. Of course, she managed to work in the current leftist meme about “the rise of white supremacist and alt-right violence.”
That was enough for Carlson to push back on the call to spend tax money on special safe spaces for Muslims.
Oh, spare me. That’s too dumb. Primarily you’re an American. Aren’t we all, first and foremost, Americans?”
Imani responded, “I’m black first.”
That’s all Carlson needed to say, “End of conversation.”

I’ve got a safe place for them… six feet under.
Strange. For such a peaceful religion, you’d think there would be plenty of safe spaces for them in the Middle East.
