Mexican flags were being flown by demonstrators outside the Hyatt, while a group of peaceful guests waited for Trump. Upon arriving an hour later than scheduled, due to protestors blocking the way, Donald Trump was forced to walk down an embankment and sneak into the Hyatt in Burlingame, CA, through a back door. The protestors were in full force, spewing vile hate speech at the GOP front-runner, burning him in effigy, while also showing their hate for America by burning the flag.
Trump spoke to the convention goers and bragged about his Sheriff Joe endorsement, his Border Patrol council and his trade and immigration policy. He also celebrated the fact that he had broken the “thousand mark” with 1,001 delegates, though he said that the system was rigged.
Meanwhile, the streets were full of angry demonstrators, many who could not string a sentence together without the f*-word attached and others calling Trump a nazi, the devil, and a hater of immigrants.
Topless women with body paint held signs that said, “Make love, not war” and “Ratify the ERA”. “Capitalism Kills”, “Black Lives Matter”, and “He is a rapist” were other points of view that were on display.
Many of the protesters were pro-illegal immigrants and much of their rhetoric was aimed at Trump’s immigration and build a wall platform. San Fransico, a sanctuary city to estimates of a half million illegal immigrants, is 15 miles from the Hyatt and this Hispanic population was out in force.
One photo, that demonstrates the illogic of this group of protesters, was of a young latino boy, standing in front of a Mexican flag and holding a cardboard sign that said, “Make America Mexico Again”.
This little boy outside of the #CAGOPConvention has a message for Trump.
“Immigrant rights are here to stay, Donald Trump get out of the way” was another chant that echoed the crowded streets.
Another “native woman” said, “This land was Mexican once, Indian always, and will be again. We don’t need a white man telling us that he’s gonna build a wall in our land…we want him out!”
A Trump supporter, Christopher Conway, says, “he was punched and kicked when he walked thru crowd to get into the #CAGOP convention”. When asked if he said anything to the crowd, he said definitely not.
The anti-Trump demonstrators are not peaceful but riddled with angst and hate against the very country that provides for their every need.
