Laurel Hubbard, a transgender athlete from New Zealand, made sports history by winning a women’s weightlifting competition in Australia on March 19.
The 39-year old (born a male) won the women’s over 90 kilogram (kg) division at the Australian International competition in Melbourne. In the process Hubbard set four unofficial national records by lifting a combined total of 268 kg. That performance bested silver medalist Iuniarra Sipaia of Somoa by 19 kg.

Good for IT…
I was always told boys shouldn’t beat girls…I guess if you can’t compete fairly in your own gender, you can change anything in order to get that all important trophy and snatch your fifteen minutes of fame in the limelight…even if you do it unfairly. This is not right. Everyone knows men have greater muscular development than most women.
That’s ridiculous
The main qualification to be female should be, “NO$#%&!@*AND BALLS”!
Pretty low Australia!
Imagine that…..III%
IT is as ugly as a mud fence
Remember woman of the year last year was a man! Everything is just as it should be according to who?!
When & if that happens the same people pushing for men to compete with their identified sex will be the same ones crying foul
Ha Ha you ask for it now deal with it
