Top 5 RIDICULOUS Defenses Wasserman Schultz Gives for Awan Scandal

Disgraced former DNC Chairwoman and current FL Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is in hot water. Her employee Imran Awan got caught stealing taxpayer dollars, committing bank fraud, smashing DNC hard drives, and selling U.S. national secrets to foreign agents. She only fired Awan last week after he was arrested trying to flee the country after wiring $283,000 to Pakistan.

She gave an interview today with the Sun Sentinel in Florida explaining her side of the story. Here is the list of the top 5 ridiculous defenses Wasserman Schultz gave for why she is the subject of various criminal investigations. Number 5 is nuts!   

1. Changing Awan’s Job Description (but not his duties?) After Finding Out Subject of Criminal Investigation and BANNED from House Networks.

Instead of firing him, Wasserman Schultz said her office worked with the House chief administration officer to develop a job description that “would allow him to continue to do work … until such time as there were other charges brought or we had some evidence that there was something that was produced that warranted further action.”

2. She kept Awan around because he gives great advice!

Even without access to the IT network, Wasserman Schultz said, “there are plenty of technological issues that an IT person can assist with. He didn’t have access to the network, but he was able to give us guidance and advice

3. Threatened Capitol Hill Police Chief Matthew Verderosa because she self-admittedly wanted “more information” about the investigation.

She said her concern about the nature of the investigation was what prompted her to warn Verderosa at the hearing that he could face consequences. “I was trying to get more information.”

She was trying to interfere in the investigation!

4. The “Right Wing Media Fringe” reporting this story have jumped to “outrageous, egregious conclusions” and are racist for saying he was traveling to Pakistan when arrested.

“The right-wing media circus fringe has immediately focused not on this run-of-the-mill investigation just reporting the facts, but jumped to outrageous, egregious conclusions that they were trying to, that they have ties to terrorists and that they were stealing data,” she said.

She cited suggestions he was attempting to flee the country and emphasis on his ultimate destination — Pakistan — before his arrest on the bank fraud charge. The country is widely known as a battleground for Islamic terrorists.

5. Awan is only under investigation because he is Muslim

And, she said, she believes he may have been put under scrutiny because of his religious faith. Awan is Muslim.

And so that, in me, gave me great concern that his due process rights were being violated. That there were racial and ethnic profiling concerns that I had,” she said.

Wasserman Schultz really needs to stop racially profiling her employees. Or maybe there is a reason she does… And really how terrible are the Democrats at coming up with good catch phrases? “Right Wing Media Fringe?” Really? That’s the best the Fake News Industrial Complex can come-up with? MAGA, Lock Her Up, and Drain the Swamp! How’s that for “a better deal”?
