Former Washington, DC mayor, the controversial Marion Barry, was at the pinnacle of his political career in the Democrat Party, when back in 1990, he was videotaped in an FBI drug investigation sting at a local motel, smoking crack cocaine. That, of course, changed his political status forever, but not the way you would think. After his conviction and serving of the prison sentence, he was re-elected as mayor in the same city! As Rush Limbaugh has pointed out again and again, the more you lose and the more crimes you commit, the more exalted you become in the Democrat Party.
Mayor Barry, in defense of his city, said:
“If you take out the killings, Washington actually has a very, very low crime rate.”
Rocker Ted Nugent, however, had a different point of view when it came to crime. His view, often repeated by conservative critics of the Left, was more succinct and straight to the point:
“Where you have the most armed citizens in America, you have the lowest violent crime rate. Where you have the worst gun control, you have the highest crime rate.”
Truer words have never been uttered.
