“Thou shalt not murder” is different than, “Thou shalt not kill. And defending yourself and defending your nation is an obligation of any President. It is not murder.”
Ted Cruz spoke these sentiments in an interview with News Max’s, “The Hard Line” host Ed Berliner. He articulated, that as a man of faith, he understands the Biblical mandate to face evil and defend innocents. Answering Ed Berliner’s pointed question regarding faith and carpet bombing ISIS he made the correlation between killing the Nazi’s and killing ISIS.
Cruz argued that defending the innocent is an obligation and jihadist have declared war on us, therefore a stategy to protect and defeat evil is necessary.
He stated that Obama and Hillary have both failed to confront this evil as they have been unwilling to acknowledge that “the jihadists have declared war on us”.

Michal Fields The truth is he did vote for it. His one nay vote would not have impacted the outcome of the vote.
Good grief! How could David and Saul raise armies and fight their enemies? It is thou shalt not murder.
Trump, the guy who admitted to buying politicians for personal gain, is trustworthy? I agree something must be done, just don’t think trump is qualified or trustworthy. I could be wrong, but his past record is hard to ignore.
It’s self defense. That’s not murder
And nancy, thank you for keeping is civil, no lie, you’re the only trump supporters I have had a conversation with that didn’t call me names for disagreeing with trump.
It s kill or be killed, better them than us!!!
Michal Fields I hear that! I thank you for the same. I actually enjoy hearing valid arguments. I am always open to learn something from someone. I work with 3 people from NY. All of them sing Trump’s praises about the good he does for the communities where he builds. They said that in some areas, he completely renovates the neighborhoods and puts huge amounts of money into schools and housing. Obviously that is self-serving but at least he does try to help. I believe I said in an earlier post that I voted for Ted Cruz when he ran for his Senate seat. To be a little long winded….:-)….70% of the tax dollars collected by the government are spent on debt service and entitlement programs, good and bad. The debt service percentage is increasing. I couldn’t live on 30% or less of what I make and neither can this government. Politicians are why we are where we are and this country is in serious trouble. Whether you like Trump or not, he is the only candidate with the true credentials to try to do something. Who knows whether Trump can be successful but I believe he will try. I guess I boil it down to something this simple. I wouldn’t hire a lawyer to work on my car nor would I hire a lawyer to try to turn around a near financial disaster. Trump is abrasive and at times I cringe over things he says but deep down, I truly believe he is the right man for the job. I also very much respect your opinion.
If you attack someone it is not defense. If you create the attacker it gets far worse. None of those folks are headed to an afterlife for a reason.
Thanks again Nancy, truth be told, I was waiting for and expecting an insult. That lack of government experience is one thing about trump that scares me, like our current community organizer in chief. Trump and obama, in my opinion, are like peas in a pod, both think they know it all, both think they’re the smartest guy in any room, both supported killery, i had to throw that in.The last unexperienced egomaniac we elected because he said what we wanted to hear, was a disaster. Can we afford another? Thank again, stay safe out there, ps. cruz 2016 🙂
Chris Butler, dummie would you stand an let the enemy kill you, war is killing, there is a difference in killing in war an killing someone on the street because you don’t like them or to rob them.
