“Heroes” is the term that teachers in the mostly Muslim districts of Schaerbeek and Molenbeek in Brussels are hearing their students call the Islamic terrorists who attacked both Paris and Brussels. The number is staggering, as is it reported that “90 percent of their 17 and 18 year old students” champion these vile murderers.
In an article entitled “Blaming Policy, Not Islam, for Belgium’s Radicalized Youth”, in the New York Times, Yves Goldstein, the chief of staff for the minister-president of Brussels and a councilman in Schaerbeek, dismissed the idea that Islamic religion had anything to do with the terrorist attacks. Instead he said that the religion was just a pretext and that these men “believed in nothing” and that the problem and thus the cure is that these youth have had a “lack of exposure to diversity and modern art.”
