San Antonio, TX: government officials announced plans to house illegal immigrants, who they call “residents” rather than “detainees,” at a ‘remodeled’ facility including flatscreen TVs, new clothes and astro-turf sports areas. Does the move to put these children in school suggest the administration really plans to house them here for just 23 days?
Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Friday will open a remodeled detention center three hours north of the Rio Grande Valley.
The Karnes City center will house women and children who entered the country illegally through the Valley.
The 532-bed facility underwent a massive renovation to house women and children. The center housed only adult immigrants in the past.
Immigrants will be at the facility for an average of 23 days.
The feds said the rooms will be referred to as “suites.” The suites are furnished with bunk beds, play tables for children, flat-screen television sets and landline telephones.
“I will refer to everyone in this facility as a resident. ICE generally refers to people in custody as detainees,” ICE San Antonio Field Office Director Enrique Lucero said.

Yep. And Soetoro/Obama continues to ask for more and more $$$ “to help with the deportation.” Riiiiiiight. He is not using it for that, he is using it to sneak more of them inn to communities, and find ways to keep them here.

this is so disappointing… they are not refugees and are not entitled to any of these benefits, I have no problem feeding them, even get them some clothes from goodwill or other like places..pack their bags box lunch, extra water and send them all home…. we can’t afford this nonsense and it is not legal…. our VETS are not getting this kind of care nor are the elderly…. and the legal immagrants who have gone thru all the legal process still wait to get their citizenship…while these illegals get a jump start… we have laws – damnit use them…. this is illegal
Why not taking of it’s people here in the U.S. And this instead…this bunch in the White house need to go.

big article in today’s paper about this being built in southern Texas. They tried to play it as a place to keep them contained rather than turning them loose and hoping they show for their hearings. So this is true, I guess, as it was in the paper.
