A jury decided last year that the owner of a small organic farm, Shellie Smith, still owes $4000 after a raid by SWAT that destroyed her farm.
Garden of Eden, a small organic in Arlington, Texas, was the target of a SWAT raid in 10-hour long search with Smith being held at gunpoint at one point.
Arlington police dept. stated that there were complaints of marijuana being grown on the premises, but none was found on the property. Instead, law enforcement confiscated 17 blackberry bushes, 15 okra plants, 14 tomatillo plants, native grasses and sunflowers.

Stupid government over reach! They owe the farm!
Government has finally bottomed out.
Time to send those cops to a real school to lean what the different plants are. Must be a product of Apple Core or inner city public schools? Pure stupidity but then it happened in a state being taken over by the fruits and nut types from California and Colorado.
Blueberries or other foods you can grow scare those greedy bustards that want total control and all your money it’s the same thing as why marijuana is illegal i am a former police officer and I will tell you the only reason that cops try so hard to bust people for marijuana is funding. The departments who make big busts end up gaining more monetary support from local, state, and federal sources. With more funding departments can hire more officers, give pay increases and buy new and better equipment. All those things are what the department and officers want. That is why marijuana is pursued so relentlessly by police. The government dislikes marijuana for its medical properties and recreational applications that is why the incentives of monetary rewards are offered as a reward to police. The reason that the government wants marijuana illegal is many politicians are getting very rich off the money offered to them and their parties by the alcohol and pharmaceutical companies.I’m sick of seeing good people and sick children punished over bad politics and lies pushed by greedy people for their own profit

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU MR SANDERS THANK YOU FOR YOUR INFO YOUR ARE SO RIGHT
It’s a good thing Garden of Eden wasn’t growing blackberries or raspberries or something else with dangerous thorns; the gardeners would have been shot on sight.
Keep that truth & action coming! We, the people have a right to know wtf is going on in our country and government!
This has gone too far, really there are real criminals out there that need to be apprehended, all these guys have to do is an about face. When will this sort of foolishness end?
To serve and protect. . .
Aside from the government – what in the heck was the ‘jury’ thinking anyway. Why did she owe ANY money for ANY thing to ANY body especially since it was her crops that were taken. Where’s the money for her damages since they didn’t find any marijuana plants there in the first place?
this was certainly not a real swat team, or they would have planted the marijuana on her farm to frame her.
