A jury decided last year that the owner of a small organic farm, Shellie Smith, still owes $4000 after a raid by SWAT that destroyed her farm.
Garden of Eden, a small organic in Arlington, Texas, was the target of a SWAT raid in 10-hour long search with Smith being held at gunpoint at one point.
Arlington police dept. stated that there were complaints of marijuana being grown on the premises, but none was found on the property. Instead, law enforcement confiscated 17 blackberry bushes, 15 okra plants, 14 tomatillo plants, native grasses and sunflowers.

This is an atrocious abuse of power.
Hey ! I’ll stand for a lot, but when you start confiscating blueberries…we’re going to WAR.
Someone needs to get sued over this. If the police can’t provide who made false complaints about the Marijuana, it should be them.
you can grow marijuana but not food?
What morons how did they let them take the blueberries it should of bin another standoff or bloody war
Yeah, but who is barking the orders?

well since they didn’t find marijuana and produced the search warrant 2 hrs after they began the search im gonna have to side with the lady on this one. normally i would side with the cops but this is a clear cut violation of her rights. A search warrant is supposed to be given to the owner of the property before the search begins not when ever they feel like getting one or producing it, also what right do her neighbors have to decide what she can and cant do on her property since no marijuana was found to be being cultivated or in storage anywhere on the property it is clear that her neighbors made false accusations. if this were me after i was done suing the cops for the violations they committed i would demand the immediate arrest of the neighbors who called in saying she was growing marijuana and if the cops refused to arrest the neighbors i would sue the state and sue the neighbors not just for the hell of suing people but because people need to take accountability for their actions especially when they are wrong and this appears to be a clear cut injustice against this women who was growing organic food and living a self sufficient lifestyle.
