The last thing you would want in any survival situation is to have the inability to replicate man’s first significant achievement: FIRE….and just because you got your matches got wet!
Take a look at this method of waterproofing your matches, just in case you fine yourself in a predicament…or you plan to spend your time in the water. Here’s a bit more security….
I haven’t watched the video, but im going to take a wild guess and say cover them with wax.if u use burnt candle wax and make char cloth and put a piece of that in with ur matches before u coat them it will make it a lot easier.

Why not carry a Butane Lighter !!
I carry multiple means of lighting fires… and carry some fire starter… I dug out some strips of really thick pitch wood and some cotton to wrap around them, tied with twine… then I dip in Paraffin… after which I wrap individually in foil and pack away in my ‘Go Bag’ and in my rig for emergency use. When needed, just place under some kindling and light… normally this will provide enough heat to allow even wet wood to catch! In my Garage, I have several boxes of larger packs made up the same way that I use for starting campfires when camping, hunting, fishing or for the firepit!
What was the red stuff he wrapped his match in??
