Ever had to deal with a power blackout during the hot summer months? Then you know just how important keeping cool can be.
Over on The Good Survivalist we found a great tip to save you money and keep you cool:
Seems every year people die due to heat. Keeping your home cool in the summer can be very expensive if you use your air conditioner. This air conditioner is very simple to make, and can be made in a few minutes if you are handy.Even if you are not handy you’ll be able to make one of these DIY air conditioners. One of the nice things about this air conditioner is that it will give you up to 6 hours of coolness. This thing works so well you may need to put on a sweatshirt! To make one of these babies you need a few simple tools, a couple of 5 gallon buckets, along with a few other items. Everything is shown in the video.
Or you could do like I do, fire up the generator

Why not just spend $15???
Growing up in the middle of the country, we did not have electricity, so no air conditioner. We put gunny sacks over the open windows and soaked them with water so the wind would blow though them and cool the house off. We did not have TV, Electric Lights, Refrigerators, Fans, Electric appliances, The water well was operated by a pump handle that you would have to pump up and down to get water. We had a radio that run on a battery, but that was only turned on in the evening for a couple of hours. People are so spoiled these days.
i wonder how u get your computer running to post your comment then….lol..
“when growing up…”
Why do you think people are spoiled today because we use the resources that are available to us currently? It would be dumb of us NOT to. By your terms, you were spoiled growing up because the settlers didn’t have homes or water pumps or radios that run on a battery.
