The State of Georgia has filed a lawsuit against Carl Malamud, the owner of the website Public.Resource.org for publishing their state laws online.
Yes, you read that right.
Within the lawsuit, Malamud has been labeled a ‘terrorist’ by the Peach State for posting an annotated version of the entire state body of law.
Under what guise is Georgia suing you ask? Well, this gets even more offensive…
More power to him. Sounds like would-be tyrants want to stop him.
Most every other state already HAS their laws published online – why wouldn’t Georgia want to…..??
Brother out of control in Georgia
Big Brother out of control in Georgia, coming soon elsewhere!
That has nothing to do with Obama, that is a state thing, in a red state I might add
Did any of you actually read the article?
1215.org
No big deal. The information and legislation is available free of charge to anyone with without Internet access. This looks like a typical copyright issue.
For goodness dam.. sakes.
All laws and annotations should be available to anyone seeking a copy. The man is simply doing what the state of Georgia should have done all along. Keeping citizens ignorant of the law should negate the charge that being ignorant of the law is no defense. How could it be otherwise? If you”re going to play in the chickenyard you can count on stepping in a little chicken every once in awhile.
