Summer weather is heating up, so you know just how important keeping cool can be.
We found this great money-saving tip to keep you cool: Not only comfort is a factor, in fact every year people die due to heat. Keeping even a small area of your home cool in toasty summer weather can be very expensive if you use your air conditioner. Instead, this simple air conditioner, an easy DIY project cools down a small area, and can be made in just a few minutes out of simple parts.
This is a great way to re-purpose a few parts that you probably already have laying around. Check out the full video & how-to after the jump:
If you are tent camping, where to you get power to run the fan in the woods?
THAT is in no way comparable to a $399 air conditioner.
use a solar panel and a 12 volt fan
In the 60’s my dad had a mechanic shop and Michigan Summers could get hot with the high humidity. Dad made a huge fan out of a large electric motor and fan blades with a fan belt. It really was powerful and kept things cool. But when it really got hot, he took a hose and hung it up a little way in front of the fan and that really cooled things off.
Doesn’t work!! My daughter tried it out of curiosity !!
So tired of seeing this c**p and all the dumb people who don’t understand the basic science behind hot and cold….
Furthermore, Dry ice? how much would that cost to keep filling it up with that? Salt will not “make ice last longer”. Salt lowers the freezing temp making it a liquid at colder temps…. I could stick my head in the fridge all day and it would feel cold, but every time you open the door it kicks the compressor on and creates heat. Nothing is free, and energy doesn’t come from thin air. Damn some people are dumb.
I have a friend who made one of these for my puppy and a bigger one for the sleeping babies at Bedford Beach on lake Eufaula. Bobby ! You rock !!!!!!!!
It does work!!!
