Summer weather is heating up, so you know just how important keeping cool can be.
We found this great money-saving tip to keep you cool: Not only comfort is a factor, in fact every year people die due to heat. Keeping even a small area of your home cool in toasty summer weather can be very expensive if you use your air conditioner. Instead, this simple air conditioner, an easy DIY project cools down a small area, and can be made in just a few minutes out of simple parts.
This is a great way to re-purpose a few parts that you probably already have laying around. Check out the full video & how-to after the jump:
Where do you get all that for $15?
Just made one for my rabbits cage just too keep them happy in the garage lol
It’s not an air conditioner, that’s not how they work….
Back in the ’50s Sears sold a contraption that would sit on the transmission of a car, plug into the cigarette lighter. Fill it with ice and “Instant Air Conditioning”……
I found the fan in this DIY AC for $12…a styrofoam cooler for $6…and a duct 90 for $4.50. Couldn’t find that type of cooler for cheaper than $17. Conducted my first experiment today, with a frozen soup bowl of ice. No match for the Texas heat. Going for a half fill as suggested, and will see if it stands up to the challenge.
How does. It put out carbon dioxide really
What is the hourly and daily usage ??? kwh ???
fill your house full of moisture
Bob I need one of these
U can buy a 97.00 window air at walmart that will actually work and cost less to operate, unless ur in a dry zone that needs humidity an ac is for u. This works like a water cooler and increases humidity with slight cooling of air (12 degrees) but humidity offsets temp drop in a room and doesnt feel as confortable. Just a thought before investing too much on this idea.
