Instead, this simple air conditioner, an easy DIY project cools down a small area, and can be made in just a few minutes out of simple parts.

That’s fine, create mold mildew and rot your house. An air conditioner, does just that. It conditions the air by removing the humidity. If you don’t remove the humidity, you create a breeding ground for all kinds of mold and mildew. If your gonna spend $400, buy a real window air conditioner.

Looks like a neat science project, but a small window unit usually will cost less than $200, and will keep your room cool you put it in.
and the real world price of this thing is about 100 bucks not 19… Just seal the intake and output off from the ice box by using copper tubing and use dry ice, it will be colder and wont add moisture to the air, you will just have t drain it every so often

seems like this would really help “poor or very limited income” people–saw on a Roanoke, Va. TV station where their “help” program is out of funds–this may be worth looking into–
