Summer weather is heating up, so you know just how important keeping cool can be.
We found this great money-saving tip to keep you cool: Not only comfort is a factor, in fact every year people die due to heat. Keeping even a small area of your home cool in toasty summer weather can be very expensive if you use your air conditioner. Instead, this simple air conditioner, an easy DIY project cools down a small area, and can be made in just a few minutes out of simple parts.
This is a great way to re-purpose a few parts that you probably already have laying around. Check out the full video & how-to after the jump:

Waste of time & money
Use dry ice. Using it will cool the room NOT replace your a/c.
Lol Jana Tate Bain! Another friend posted this to my timeline, too. I don’t have the time or energy, though. We seriously considered camping in the backyard last night!
here’s another cool article….. http://www.survivalkit.com/blog/ac-in-the-wild/
If you know anything about air conditioners you’ve herd the term “Tons” For example my house has a 3 Ton A/C and my neighbors house has a 3 1/2 “Ton”.
This is equated to BTU’s each “Ton is = TO 12000 BTU’s.
So a 3 “Ton” A/C = 36000 BTU’s.
So where does the term “Ton” come from?
Well each pound of water takes 144 BTU’s to freeze to solid ice. One Ton of water would weigh 2000 lbs. times that by 144 and it = 288,000 BTU’s then you divide that by a 24hr time period. 288,000 divided by 24hrs and that =12000 BTU’s
That’s means my 3Ton A/C
Is capable of freezing 3 tons of ice in a 24 hour time period.
So I don’t know how much a 20 lb bag of Ice is at Publix but I’m guessing $2 is a conservative guess.
$2 x 300 bags(20lbs) of ice = $600
That should keep you whole home cool for about a day.
Does work!
Mine worked but not w quite as good as it said
So much B.S. advertising. ….I never even saw it!
