This idea works best outside. Inside, it will pump lots of humidity into a home. A slight modification would be to add salt, copper coil and a water pump. Add salt to the ice bath, allowing the ice to melt and pump it through a copper coil with air blowing across the coil would be a better option. Keeping the water and air separated is the key design consideration.
But it looks stupid sitting in the middle of your room lol I like to enjoy all of my home; do I make 8 of these and stick them in the middle of the floor in all rooms? Seems like ice would get expensive, plus when company comes over it makes you look poor Hehehehehe lol Why not just quit smoking cigarettes and buy an air conditioner? Why not go without a smartphone so you can afford to be comfortable in your home? Why not quit wasting money on fast food and buy some proper ac? Why not quit going to see brainwashing holy wood movies every weekend and use that money for proper air conditioning? Oh, I forgot, because this DIY project is trendy and some people don’t mind their house looking stupid with a cooler sitting in the middle of the room with an extension cord running to it so people and pets can trip over it. Hahahahahahaha LOL Did I mention this was stupid?
Or just get an air conditioner.
this is essentially a swamp cooler. not an “air conditioner”. would work great In a dry environment such as Arizona, however it does not dehumidify (condition) the air. it would not be very effective in high humidity climates which is often the most uncomfortable factor in summer.
