great idea
Anyone who understands physics, namely the laws of thermodynamics, understands what the problem is with this idea. It takes more energy and produces more heat to make the ice than the unit can cool. It is probably one of the least efficient ways to cool. IT will work, but you have to think… if the power is out, where are you going to get the ice?
Even cheaper if you use styrofoam cooler.
Only economical ifyouhave access to free ice! Do the math!
Worked great for me. Freeze the 2 gallon things of water and keep reusing em. Good for a bedroom while u sleep. Even mix sawdust with the water when u freeze it. Last a lot longer
I made one when are A/C broke down. You have to have a good fan for it to work. It don’t work well with a cheep fan!

How in the world does saw dust have greater heat capacity than water? This thing is an energy waster.
