It doesn’t get much easier to build a rocket stove than this:
4 cinder blocks + a gas stove eyelet + 5 minutes
If you want to improve a little on this design add one more block to increase the stove’s height for better a furnace. A chimney that is three to four times the height of the diameter of the intake will give you hotter fire.
This is a great idea. Some day we might need one
We may to know this…sooner than later !!
Ironically most of the third world country’s I’ve been to actually do have cinder blocks laying around
EL Shampoo hay que hacerlo
Concrete blocks,not cinder
Is it just me but in the pic it shows the fire is built in the top portion of the block that’s standing vertical and then traveling through the holes in the other blocks like a chimney. Only problem is the block directly to the right of the fire has a solid end and would cap it off from reaching the pot. Anyone else see that?
I noticed 1 of the blocks had the ends knocked out. That was probably the 1 you are referring to.
Apparently, Aaron didn’t watch the video.
Awesome, keeping this one in my survival book!!
This would be great during a disaster situation, where you need to put something together that’s efficient and doesn’t use a lot of resources. You can increase the efficiency by using mud as a mortar to seal the spaces where the blocks meet. This whole thing won’t be permanent, but it’s cheap enough that when it cracks you can just build another one.
that will break and crumble from the heat before long
