What you have in Mexico is almost a failed state, and it is the drug cartels that are making it so. They are not simply organizations that manage to avoid prosecution while they produce and distribute their illicit products. Rather they are violent, paramilitary groups that engage in hostilities to protect and expand their part of the trade in illegal drugs.
That they exist just south of our border and export their products to the US is one more reason to support President Trump’s border wall and efforts to secure that border with Mexico. But the issue is whether we should do more. In other words, given the threat these cartels present to the US, would it make sense to take increased action in concert with the Mexican authorities to attack them before they get the chance to enter the US or ship their drugs into our country?
Senator Cruz believes the answer to that question is yes, and he supports using US military forces, working with Mexico, to attack the drug problem at its source — these violent cartels that are a blight on Mexico and a danger to America.
HELL NO! Secure the border and let that$#%&!@*hole of a country Mexico simply implode.
I agree with you John. I’m not totally opposed to a wall but the Cartel needs to be destroyed first.
stop acting like they matter take thier money and don,t let them have any thing
So ——- where do you think the addict will get the “revenue” ?
Only 1 way to win the war on Drugs . . . you have to KILL the enemy . if you incarcerate , then Let them go you will Lose . catch and release does Not work
That will never happen, drug cartels have people everywhere
The only way that this would be viable would be to kill each and every cartel member. That is a task that will take years and thousands of American lives. A task that we are not up for. Otherwise they will disperse and lay low for a bit while they reconsolidate and come back stronger, and more organized than before. Haven’t we learned anything since Vietnam??!!
Donna Fick imagine if Columbia’s coca industry could become legal. The difference it would make in all of our southern America’s. It’s very clear that American’s thirst for cocaine is not going away. We should face this fact and stop trying to displace the responsibility for our problems in the USA on the wrong people.
The dissenters on this subject seem to be USA centered in their thoughts. South America is destroyed supplying our want and desire “under the table”. We should legalize for all the non-American victims we are creating. The rich are laundering that money at a high price so Wells Fargo bank and the HSCB bank in London are making tons on our stupidity. IF PROHIBITION WORKED WHY DID WE END IT?
After England occupied Afghanistan in the early 1800’s and after “so many” got addicted to heroin after the civil war drugs were made illegal. (hope i don’t get this number wrong) Drugs were made illegal the government sighted up to 14% of population was addicted.. This is when you could go buy it in any form at the pharmacy. 150 years later and 60 years of a “drug war” 14% of the American population has drug problems. There has been no change in 150 years.
