In the wake of the shooting of a sheriff in Houston, Texas, Ted Cruz (R-TX) is calling out Obama for his part in creating this nightmare for police and the people they protect.
“We stand with our police officers, we stand with our fire fighters, with our EMS, with our first responders,” Cruz’s statement began. “These are brave humans who risk their lives keeping us safe. We are seeing a manifestation of the rhetoric and vilification of law enforcement that is coming form the top — all the way to the President of the United States and senior administration officials.”
Cruz continued:
Cops across this country are feeling the assault. They’re feeling the assault from the President, from the top on down as we see, whether it’s in Ferguson or Baltimore, the response of senior officials of the President, of the Attorney General, is to vilify law enforcement. That is fundamentally wrong, and it is endangering the safety and security of us all.
I’m proud to stand with law enforcement, to stand with the police and fire fighters and first responders. They are American heroes. And they need a President who doesn’t attack and vilify them and who doesn’t seek to tear us apart along racial lines to inflame racial divisions. Instead we need a President who works to bring us together and unify us behind shared American values.
What many people don’t realize about police “brutality” is the solution is a rather simple one. If you don’t want to have run-ins with the police, then stop doing things that get you in trouble. Cruz has a good point, it’s time that we stop vilifying law enforcement on the grounds of racial prejudice and start letting them do their jobs, because nobody else will.
Yes, there are a lot of bad apples within law enforcement ranks and a weeding out of those not fit to carry a badge would be the other half of the solution. But, that should be done on a state level…there’s no way that the feds should be given even more power than they have now, especially when it comes to our police depts.
Look at the bills and legislation….. Is that so hard?
Name 1 bill from the REPUBLICANS that helps struggling hard working Americans, since 2009….
Like the Dems. had the HARP & HAMP programs, Equal Pay bill, Sexual $#%&!@*ault Against Women bill, and the funny thing, the Republicans were AGAINST them all!!! Why?
Primarily because like 99.9% of other legislation bills are earmarked with tons of other unrelated and inappropriate spending. Im not going to play this little party lines game with you, if you have been paying attention to politics for any substantial length of time you should know that approach is entirely futile. If your two closed minded to see any error on the left then we are both waisting our time, enjoy your ostrich hole. I suggest you play your own game… Have a look at all the legislation written by dems that has negatively impacted Americans, and not just struggling ones. Then do us all another small favor and stop posting memes, do some independent research and post an original thought of your own.
The HARP & HAMP programs helped Americans!
Equal Pay bill, helped Americans!
Sexual $#%&!@*ault Against Women bill, helped Americans!
Minimum Wage increase, helped Americans!
Lowering our payroll taxes, helped Americans! Now ALL OF THOSE, the Republicans were AGAINST!!! but they do stuff like this
