The Seattle Times ran an opinion piece suggesting the flawed National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) meant to facilitate background checks before firearms sales will not work correctly as long gun sales by a “private party” are allowed.
Ironically, every gun transaction in the US between 1791 and 1998 has been a “private party” sale, even if the sale took place inside a retailer. The Second Amendment was ratified in 1791. 1998 was the year the NICS system was implemented under the auspices of the Brady Act.
And now, after a decade and a half of public attackers passing a NICS check to acquire their guns, we are told the system will not work unless private sales are eliminated. Read more of the Seattle Times’ rant on the next page.
Seattle Times has always been a left wing papeer!!
They sure are
watch seattles crim e rate skyrocket
They are promoting a society run by criminals. That is their main point.
That will solve the problem for sure! Didn’t the Times once report that the Japanese had bombed San Diego?
Next they will ask to ban free speech. It’s a Progressive thing.
Seattle is a great liberal experiment. The hard part will come when they ask the rest of the state for a bailout.
They don’t know how to spell Australia either.
What are they for? Private gun thefts???
That would be against law. We have the right to arm ourselves from a tyrannical government or invasion.
