A Delaware high school student decided to “sit out” the Pledge of Allegiance, and alleged that his teacher reprimanded him that sitting out was not an option. The American Humanist Association (AHA) stated the student contacted them to represent him and his rights. The AHA immediately contacted the school, sending legal precedence with a demand the school follow this law.
should students be able to sit out the pledge? next page
For that school, which frankly I don’t think taxpayers should support any more:
“Liberty and justice” in consideration are ambiguous. To one person, this is fulfilled within reason. To others, they focus on the exceptions with the idea the exceptions somehow disprove the statement. Some people believe majority defines functionality. I subscribe to the premise of statistically valid application. If 98% accurate, the statistic is valid, understanding that inconsistencies are an inevitable part of reality. At no point does the pledge claim perfect and complete liberation of all people or that the judicial system is flawless. It merely claims we all have both. Though we do often have our liberties violated, they most definitely exist. How else would we be able to discuss the violation of such liberties without other liberties to do so?
“One nation under God”. You have confused the claim. No one said we are a god like nation, or even a holy nation. The claimed that the nation exists under the existence of an almighty god. Their claim is to a faith in God and has nothing to do with our subjection, our favorability, or our likeness to Him.
I see no propaganda in this pledge. All I see a man spreading propagating in the attempt to convince others of nonexistent propaganda.
Where are all the leftist anti American people coming from … send them away.
Mandatory Pledge of Allegiance or leave the country!
So sad.
Did everyone forget this is America! Let’s take back our schools and our country!
this is BS – we used to say it everyday and NOT one person opted out – how the hell did we get this far into the muck, oops sorry I forgot about Obama, that explains everthing
We never were allowed to say the pledge of allegiance, I’m 30years old now and 4th grade was last time that I remember saying it.
So then you aren’t a follower of jesus…ok, cool….
So FORCING children in schools to pledge allegiance in a Free country is what you think will allow this Nation to survive? Seriously?
