Parents are peeved at the new pick up policy for their children at Bear Branch Elementary in Magnolia, Texas. Even if one’s home is directly across the street from the school, the school mandates that the parent must get into the car and get in line with the hundreds of other vehicles, no walk up kid pick up allowed.
Under the banner of safety for children, the school neglected to think about the lunacy found in the unintended consequences of their noble idea. Only by bus or car, can a parent send and retrieve their children, no longer can a child hold a parent’s hand to walk four doors down to and from school.
The inconvenience is also found in the hour long lines of cars to pick up the students. One parent told KPRC 2 News that parents begin to line up at 2:30 for a 3:25 dismissal time.
Unintended consequences are found on the following page.
And had there been any problems or complaints in the past, if not what is the problem with the old way
I’m confused, how can a school stop parents from walking on public streets. Meet the kid out front on the “public” street, walk them home.
These schools think they own your children get involved with PTA and see just what they are indoctrinating your kids with its a horror story
They’re peeved? They need to take control and stop being so dependent on external support. Priorities folks!
Someone with too much time on their hands must have thought this up! If the child is within walking distance and a parent or other “responsible” adult is there to$#%&!@*them, there should be no problem!
Big Brother wants your children 24-7
Ridiculous!
Good! Give them hell! This is America!
Schools are just out of control!
Since when did the schools get to tell parents how they must get their children to school
