References to Christmas, Easter, Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanahhave been stricken from next year’s school calendar in Montgomery County, MD. This was in response to Muslim demands that the school district give equal treatment to the Muslim holy day of Eid al-Adha
This stripping of all religious holidays off the calendar wasn’t exactly what Saqib Ali, former Maryland state delegate and member of the Equality for Eid Coalition, had hoped for.
“By stripping the names Christmas, Easter, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, they have alienated other communities now, and we are no closer to equality,” stated Ali. “It’s a pretty drastic step, and they did it without any public notification.”
The Maryland school district appears to have been battling the Muslims in their efforts by taking this action.

Kick the muzzie heathens out!
I see some target practice in this photo!
From everything I read it was not a demand it was a request to add the words of their holiday to the calender especially because the next two years their holiday overlaps with both the Christian holiday of Christmas and Hanukkah. There seemed to be no problem in adding Kawanza. I am all about not changing any of our holidays to accommodate anyone, this is our country and American tradition is important, and if they were actually demanding the celebration of their holiday in place of ours I would definitely be upset but that is not my understanding. Someone please correct me if I am wrong but when you do please show me that it was a demand. I just think they have a weak Board of Education. JMO
Having their own schools would be a wonderful idea. Home Schooling is a great idea too but not only because of this….the public schools are indoctrinating not educating our children.
