Scalia: Liberal SCOTUS Destroying Our Democratic System

Supreme Court Judge Antonin Scalia believes the liberal wing of the Supreme Court is going to dismantle our rights:

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia told an audience at Santa Clara University in Silicon Valley that the Supreme Court is “liberal,” not conservative–and that its views herald “the destruction of our democratic system.”

“For Pete’s sake, [the Constitution] is a legal document…It means what it says and it doesn’t mean what it doesn’t say….People don’t say anymore, ‘It’s unconstitutional.” Instead, anything you hate should be prohibited and anything you love should be supported by the Constitution. I don’t know where this comes from,” he said, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

One need only look at the Supreme Court decision this past Summer which legalized homosexual marriages throughout the country. Between the prevalence of abortion, gay marriage, and the suppression of Christian religious expression, another liberal Supreme Court judge could truly tip the scale to an all-out eradication of our fundamental rights as citizens.

Going out and voting for a Republican President can help prevent this from happening, for it is the President who nominates new judges to the Supreme Court. With another non-activist judge on the court, we may be able to reinforce the Constitution, rather than see it slip away into irrelevance.
