Liberals subscribe to magical thinking, believing that free college tuition and free health care to illegals will somehow end up a net win for the public. But reality often intrudes on this magical thinking like a big pimple on the end of your nose, and it is painful and unsightly. In this case, the laws of economics are intruding into the magical thinking of liberal politicians in San Francisco (as if there were any other kind there), and it is a growing problem.
San Francisco has declared that the minimum wage in the city, now being replicated in several other fact-challenged cities, will rise to $15 by 2018, and polls there predict happy, better-paid workers who will finally have a “living wage.” They have also insisted that this will not increase inflation and that it will be a boon to the minimum wage worker. That is a lie. And the impact is just now showing up as the first mandated rise from $10.74 to $12.25 is being implemented by certain retailers.

It depends on the shop and shop cost experience helps too. So you think it is right for someone with no background no education no skills and make a semi decent wage.

Evveryone needs to be treated the same. It is the only fair way.
Unskilled workers should learn a skill….. fast food jobs are not meant to be a career unless you move into the management part of the business. The middle class are the ones that suffer the most. The inflation caused impacts them the most. They are not receiving the 14% raise, so their buying power decreases.
It is a loss for the middle class family who just got hit with inflation with no 14% adjustment.
It will also kill ambition and job creation. Why learn a trade or work in the heat.
Just out of curiosity, how much in profits are these corporations making? What percentage more do the average executives at said corporations make than their average laborers?
Just more corporate greed. Trying to blame the workers for not wanting to live in poverty is bs. They keep saying they will replace minimum wage workers with machines. If that would be cost effective they would have already done it. Just a scare tactic
Doesn’t any of them understand market economy?
Does anyone see the domino effect this causes?
No, but some people think that someone has no skills when they do work that requires a lot of skills. They should try some of these jobs and they would find out they aren’t so easy.
