Russian Lawyer Tied to Firm That Put Together Trump Dossier

Natalia Veselnitskaya is a Russian lawyer who spoke with Donald Trump, Jr., last June regarding information about the Magnitsky Act and the Kremlin’s distaste of this piece of Congressional legislation which was passed in 2009.  Sergei Magnitsky was a Russian government snitch who outed tax evaders in the Russian Ministry which ultimately led to his imprisonment and beating death.  The Magnitsky Act put into place sanctions against the Russian government that they felt was unwarranted.  For their part, Russian officials claimed that Magnitsky was a spy and was imprisoned on unrelated charges.

It was obviously a retaliatory act against the foreign national who had exposed wrong-doing in the Russian Ministry, but that was not really the big point.  Fusion GPS was the company that was deeply involved in the laughingstock “dossier” that was published and excerpted so often by the Leftist fake news media in an effort to expose Trump’s supposed ties to the Russians and the subsequent collusion in changing the results of the election that the media experts involved never took a moment to delve into the background of the company that produced the dossier, nor the man who was directly responsible with its writing.

Although the Leftists continue to stand by the veracity of the dossier and its creator, the fact remains that in so many ways it was exposed as a fraudulent set of documents and was further shown to be the work of an amateur.  That being said, as is always the case when you’re speaking about Regressives, they were not going to let this one drop.  There was too much precious broadcast news time already invested in this fraudulent material to just let go, therefore the race is now on to prove once and for all that the fake documents mattered and, in fact, were real.

Enter Natalia Veselnitskaya.  Donald Trump, Jr., had spoken with her briefly last summer and this facilitated a whole media onslaught of conspiracy theories and suppositions about the meeting.  The New York Times itself has already climbed aboard the dossier train and published a story regarding emails between Trump Jr. and Veselnitskaya when the editors hadn’t even yet viewed the emails.  Of course, as is always the case these days, the old and haggard Gray Lady was operating under the words and assurances of three anonymous, faceless sources who came out of either the House or the Senate Intelligence Committees (or both).  As previously stated, Trump has a ton of enemies perching on these thrones in the intelligence panels of the House and the Senate and the leaks that have been gushing from these committees is unconscionable.

The Russian lawyer who offered Donald Trump Jr. damaging information about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reportedly has ties to the opposition research firm that commissioned the dossier on President Donald Trump.

When the June 2016 meeting took place, Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya was in New York to defend Prevezon, a Russian holding firm accused of laundering money for corrupt Russian businessmen. Veselnitskaya had been working on the case for years with assistance from Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm that compiled the Trump dossier.

Fusion GPS denied any knowledge of, or role in, facilitating the meeting between Veselnitskaya and Trump Jr.

“Fusion GPS learned about this meeting from news reports and had no prior knowledge of it,” the company told The Washington Post. “Any claim that Fusion GPS arranged or facilitated this meeting in any way is false.”

The 2016 meeting at Trump Tower concluded after Trump Jr. realized Veselnitskaya had no information on Clinton and her true motivation was to gain an audience to voice her opposition to Russia sanctions.

Specifically, Veselnitskaya was there to criticize the Magnitsky Act, which imposed heavy sanctions on Russian businessmen connected to the 2009 murder of Russian lawyer Sergei Magnitsky.

So, as we can see, while the Washington Post would just LOVE to find that Trump Jr. was speaking with Veselnitskaya through Fusion GPS liaisons, they were basically told that this is a dead end.  But don’t worry.  The Left is not going to merely stop at that “connection” to the Russians.

Veselnitskaya has been heavily involved in lobbying efforts to repeal the Magnitsky Act for years, specifically in her role defending Prevezon, a Russian holding company accused by the Department of Justice of laundering a portion of the $230 million in fraudulently reclaimed Hermitage taxes.

Hermitage Capital is the firm that the Russian officials had illegally seized the $230M from and an action for which the Magnitsky Act was initiated.

Fusion GPS’ denial of involvement in the meeting hasn’t prevented the Trump legal team from building a narrative around Veselnitskaya’s connection to the now well known opposition research firm.

Spokesman for Trump’s outside counsel, Mark Corallo, emphasized Veselnitskaya’s relationship with Fusion GPS.

“Specifically, we have learned that the person who sought the meeting is associated with Fusion GPS, a firm which according to public reports, was retained by Democratic operatives to develop opposition research on the president and which commissioned the phony Steele dossier,” Corallo said in the Monday statement.

As we can see, it appears that Veselnitskaya was merely attempting to build upon the dossier “research” in order for the Clinton campaign to reap its benefits.  It’s very possible that Trump Jr.’s cutting off of communications with the Russian lawyer when he did precipitated the collating of the dossier to be released more quickly since the Trump Jr. meeting had run into a dead end.

This may go on for a few weeks, piled up on top of the other news about Articles of Impeachment, or world leaders not trusting Trump, or North Korea’s flower and rainbow unicorns parade (okay, so I made up the last one) but the point is that the Russia story may go away in a few weeks, only to be resurrected again at a later time when the news cycle gets slow.

It’s quite a shameful practice that the Leftists and the lackey slaves in the media have going on, but I’ll tell you, it’s even more shameful what’s going on in the Republican Party when not a single one is coming forward to at least stand against the Left on behalf of the American people.  Trump’s a big boy.  He can take care of himself.

The Republican Party says it stands for the American people.  It would be nice for once if they start showing us.
