Reading about fraud is always upsetting, but reading about charity fraud is downright infuriating.
When the already-impoverished nation of Haiti was struck by a devastating earthquake in 2010, people around the world opened their checkbooks to donate money to the reconstruction of the country. Among the recipients of these generous donations was the Red Cross, who pledged to help the people of Haiti get back on their feet with the millions of dollars given to them.
Yet five years after launching LAMIKA, a project named after a Creole acronym for “A Better Life In My Neighborhood” and meant to build hundreds of homes in Port-Au-Prince, only six homes have been built across the entire country, forcing citizens to continue dwelling in shacks without water, electricity or basic sanitation and regular flooding. In short, the Red Cross has delivered far less than it promised not just to it’s donors, but to the people it claimed it would help as well.

It would be nice if they would have shown actual building costs. Remember the red cross uses most of the donations it receives to pay huge amounts to their chief and many of the regional and local officers meaning that about 10 cents on the dollar goes to people in need
People better stop donating to red crosee. Just make fat cats rich and money not get to help the unfortunates..
I quit giving to this outfit a long time ago. There are much better charities to suppprt.
The rest went to pay overhead…… almost said that with a straight face…..
There are many corrupt people. Even Red Cross has some. They don’t have a heart or souls to do these stealing from the poor
Well thats not too many is it ?
This is why I will not donate to these rip-offs!
NEVER NEVER EVER DONATE TO RED CROSS . The waste of resources is rampant. After hurricane in US. They threw out unused blankets ( some on packaging), supplies and donated items. Running of anyone who wanted to recycle to homeless etc. the Volunteers from out of the area stay in top Nicholas hotels, spend whatever they want on meals. Drinks included. My cousin wanted me to join cuz the perks were so good.
Fly First or Business Class.
Over paid employees and CEOs etc.
Little top heavy in the administration dept, wouldn’t you say! Samaritans Purse..almost all proceeds, if not all, go directly to help the people.
And by the way did you know GOODWILL is a privately owned business for profit?? Yep it is!
