A deeply divided nation has just concluded a predictably divisive election. There were all sorts of lurid predictions propagated through the mainstream and alternative media concerning what might happen depending on which candidate for president prevailed.
These included the always amusing threat of celebrities moving to Canada if the Republican won. As if they’d be missed. Also included in the debate were speculations of states seceding as well as the outbreak of civil war, which would probably be the product of any attempts at secession. (See early 1860s.)
So far, we’ve witnessed all sorts of wailing and gnashing of teeth on the part of the left, as well as some incredibly immature behavior encouraged on some college campuses. We’ve also had to contend with protests that have turned violent. If one were a gambler, the smart money would probably bet on some continued unrest, fizzling out after the inauguration of the new president.
On the other hand, maybe all of this tension over the election of Donald Trump is just a prelude to far more serious conflicts breaking out in our nation. More on this on page two.
Don Farmer Urban areas raise the food and the Cities would starve out pretty quick.
Liberals won’t fight. The protesting is for a paycheck from Soros or looting.
Lol it would be pretty easy! All of the liberals would be in the middle of freeways and Highways. Walking ducks in a row.
We are in the middle of the civil war now. It’s just a bloodless one

Look at the voting maps and tell us he’s wrong. You act like you’re a one man army out in the midst of enemy territory. You sing the praises of your guns while supporting those who would disarm you. You’re on the wrong side of this my friend.
Pretty sure mary & Joseph weren’t packing suicide vests or looking to decapitate infidels ergo you’ve drawn a false parallel in an effort to stir emotion and guilt where none is due.
It would probably be Trump vs Republicans.
Michael Dail funny thing. Gun laws have actually become more lax during the Obama administration where I live. How about that. You no longer need a CCW to conceal. And it’s always been an open carry state. And Stand Your Ground. And Castle Law. So I don’t feel anyone has is going to come for my guns any time soon. As for the beaches comment, the power hub of most nations is coastal. A large proportion of our biggest cities are coastal. I’d hardly call NYC a beach town. A large proportion of our urban hubs are liberal. The right wing media portrays liberals as weak skinny jean losers who can’t stomach their coffee black. It’s about as bad a stereotype as all conservatives need dental work and like to$#%&!@*their sisters.
The civil war was absolutely not initiated with the end of slavery in mind. It started due to a failure to resolve the abhorrently high taxes northern manufacturers were charging for goods shipped south as well as the suffocating restrictions placed by the north upon southern exports. Failure to properly address and resolve these stranglehold practices left the south no option but to secede. The abolition of slavery did not come about until halfway through the war.
Looks like it’s you that needs to learn history.
