“I can’t imagine any use for bayonets in an urban setting,” stated Sen. Rand Paul to Senate Homeland Security Committee at a hearing last year.
“I can’t answer what a local police force would use a bayonet for,” Alan Estevez said.
Paul snapped back “None”
Rand Paul is completely correct, of course, that there is no need for bayonets in local law enforcement. Bayonets are for hand-to-hand combat in battle and the only purpose is to kill.

To defend themselves from the crazies
Good question!
Rioters, throw bricks etc get bayoneted !, would cut down on riots!
From what I”m seeing, these are not local police officers, they look more like Mexican police/army personnel practicing their bayonet skills, just like we used to do when I first joined the U.S. Army back in the ’60’s. I say this due to the color or the uniforms, the magaxine carrying bandoliers, their hats. The person behind the front person has a patch on his right arm and that does not look like it’s American military. Also, if one looks hard enough, the rifle sling is one from WWII era. Modern day slings for rifles are black nylon and has connection points at the sling ends. Just my personal observation.

Simply effective at little cost. I would have liked to se it’s use demonstrated in Furguson, St. Louis, Nw York, Florida and wherever else illegal activities occur. FIX BAYONETs! Form a line. Forward at the half step.
I think to Scare the heck out of Thugs and Gangs and maybe save their own Life
I’m afraid that if I comes from one of these LYING sites we shouldn’t believe it. They probably took what Rand Paul said out of context. They should rename this site…”WWW.HalfTruthsAndLiesAndInAction.org !”
Ok they got byonets ! So what lets move on !!!
