Chicago mayor, Rahm Emanuel announced a $250,000 fund to support church and community sponsored gun buyback programs in Chicago. This plan comes in the wake of Chicago’s already stringent regulations on gun stores, including an “assault weapons” ban and a “violence tax” on guns and ammunition.
Similar programs have been initiated in various cities in California, Arizona, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan and New Jersey. And while the number of weapons exchanged for cash cards varied depending on the city, statistics show that in all cases, these buy back programs have mostly failed to reduce gun violence. In a city like Chicago, where there have been 2,439 shooting victims this year alone, it doesn’t sound like a place you want to live and be unarmed.

Gee. Right out of an episode of “Blue Bloods. Is that all you can come up with?
bullets will be freely given at great speed!
Start with the gangs first an buyback there guns!!
Stupid does stupid.
Masterbation on parade. What a joke.
The politicians have all gone insane, especially those that want people who are law abiding citizens, especially if they live in States like Chicago. They should be the first to give up their guns and the guns that are used to protect them. You don’t expect people to give up something that you won’t give up yourself. Most people are not idiots. Even the criminals have more sense.
LOL…….another failed program that is revisited for show-and -tell….makes it look like they are doing something…..the idea that criminals are going to turn in their guns is absurd….but to the low information voter is must look like a great scheme
That should fly like a ton of bricks.
He should be buying law obeying citizen a firearm for protection!
Many will see this as an opportunity to make several hundred makeshift firearms and capitalize on their stupidity.
