Cincinnati Makes Quoting the Bible Illegal

Cincinnati City Council member Chris Seelbach, a member of the law and public safety committee, is proposing an ordinance for the city that will impose a $200-a-day fine on any mental health counselor or therapist who is providing treatment designed to help lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, or transgender people who want to modify or change their sexual orientation or gender identity.

The agenda of the LGBT lobby is to silence and destroy the free speech of those who believe the Bible and subscribe to its teachings. While they demand absolute acceptance and even adherence to their perverted teachings, they are adamant that any contrary view must be silenced. That means that a therapist, working with an individual with gay or bisexual tendencies who seeks out a Bible believing therapist, for example, will be prohibited from working with that individual, or will suffer horrendous legal and financial consequences.

The LGBT community insists that everyone must accept as normal and acceptable their behavior, and though they demand “tolerance” and even acceptance of what they do, they are also seeking to legally prevent the offer of counseling if it is counter to LGBT lifestyles or activities. It is astonishing that any bureaucrat would not recognize the unconstitutional nature of these demands, but they are pandering to a vocal, financially well-off group of extreme activists.

This law is nothing less than a denial of the biblical doctrine of sanctification, threatening fines of $73,000 per year to a counselor that uses 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 to help those caught in sin: “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-11).

In other words, those that refuse to bow the knee to the idol of sexual anarchy being promoted across our land will be forced to pay the price.

It is clear that the power of government is being used as a bludgeon to force people of faith to submit and to hide. It has been said that Europe is in a post-Christian era, and the United States is rapidly being forced into a similar position as bureaucrats seek to destroy religious institutions and force Christians to submit to the abominations of the unGodly.
