The intolerance of the left has grown so much that its adherents cannot even bear to hear dissenting opinions without feeling “threatened”.
Don’t believe it? Look to Texas Christian University. You would think a college with “Christian” in the title would at the very least be willing to hear conservative opinions, but the shocking actions of a professor there show nothing could be further from the truth.
Trying to prompt discussion about feminism amongst her students, Dr. Melita Garza instructed her class to write about the subject in a blog post that she would then read and grade. One student, a disabled military veteran, took the assignment seriously and offered his take on feminism.
Pointing to research by the American Enterprise Institute, the student argued that not only are women relatively well-off but that they also are “the freest and most liberated in human history”, a wholly uncontroversial claim when one looks at the barbaric treatment of women in times past and compares it to the freedom and respect accorded to females today.
It must have been controversial to Dr. Garza though, because she proceeded to give the student an “F” and called for security to forcibly remove him from class.

Crock of c**p. Hope he sues their collective asses off.
Unfortunately we are not privy to the entire story. However; if the paper itself was the reason for the expulsion from the class it is an outrage and should be delt with by legal adjudication. However; I suspect there was a basic personality clash at issue here between a cloistered feminist professor and a hardened veteran of war ,to whom ,such issues as the oppression of women in modern society would be viewed with distain and as mere frippery.I seem to remember from my time at University that distain was one emotion that women professors could not handle without resorting to violence. A woman scorned and all that …..
She needs to be fired.
the professor should be fired
lawyer time !
James Kelly, the document scans they posted in the article (though fuzzy) also mention behavior that took place in a private meeting between the student, the professor and another official. Of course, this very ambiguous mention is all we get, no detail. In fact, the documents barely mention the blog post.
We are on the same page here, Mr. Nelson. I totally support your perspective that we DO NOT HAVE adequate info regarding the student’s behavior in the class or the meetings, nor is his status as a veteran a free pass to exhibit any behavior he chooses. His opinions, yes, just like any other student. I was formerly a Grad Teaching Assistant at a big university in Georgia (Psychology), and one of my students rarely showed up, did poor work on the test, and did not turn in a 5 page paper in time even with a sliding scale grade. She got an “F”, complained and demanded a meeting with me and the faculty advisor. The first words out of her mouth in that meeting were “That son of a$#%&!@*is trying to fail me!” The advisor, who had all the records from my class and saw how poorly she had participated, suggested I give her 3 weeks to write the 5 page paper (which she claimed she had 3 pages done) and grade it as if it was on time. I agreed, but guess what? The paper never showed up. Epilogue – she contacted me 3 years later, very politely begging to get the “F” removed from her transcript. Fortunately it was way past the deadline, so I did not have to do anything. Point being, I am sure she has told a slew of people about the mean GTA who flunked her, and left out a few details, just like Truth & Action loves to do.
You are right….we women are freer now and have more afforded to us than ever before in the history of our country. We can’t fix what happens in other countries. That is up to those women. I too am a Veteran. (female)
The ACLU is only interested in Liberal issues, it rarely will take up the case if it has even the slightest conservative, or truley constitutional basis. The ACLU is an absolute joke!
